The desk in St Louis: +1 (314) 862-4517

the short list of what a booking request leaves behind in this office

What this office holds about you, and what it never asks for

This office keeps a small amount of information because a trip cannot be priced without it. Everything below is what actually happens to it, written out rather than summarized.

A firebreak cut straight through dense dark conifer forest opening onto a pale sky and a distant ridge, cool green shade

A booking request is a piece of correspondence. Somebody in St Louis reads it, works out whether the trip can be arranged, asks two or three operating companies what particular dates cost, and writes back. That is the whole reason Willow Mile Press holds anything about you at all, and the list below is short because the job is narrow.

This office keeps no counter hours and publishes none, because a printed opening time would be a promise about a person rather than about the work. What is promised instead is a deadline: every request that reaches the form is read in the order it arrived and answered within one business day, and if the answer needs longer than that you will get a note saying so and what it is waiting on.

What the form actually asks you for

The form asks for a name, an email address, and a telephone number if you want to be reached that way. It asks how many travelers there are and roughly when you want to go. There is a box for anything you want the desk to know: a bad knee, a child who does not sit still on long transfers, a wedding that has to be worked around. Whatever you type in that box goes into the request and no further.

what the form asks for

name, email, telephone if you choose to give one, party size, approximate dates, and free text about the trip

what it never asks for

card number, bank details, Social Security number, driver license number, date of birth, or any government identifier

what it never asks for, second list

health records, immigration status, household income, employer

stored automatically

nothing beyond the request itself and the timestamp it arrived

browser preference kept

That second row is worth saying plainly rather than burying it. There is no field anywhere on this site that takes a card number, because Willow Mile Press Bookings LLC takes no money from travelers. The operating company charges you itself, under the contract it writes and its own terms and pays this office a commission afterward. So the numbers that people are most nervous about handing over are not collected here, cannot be collected here, and would have nowhere to go if you sent them. If you do type a card number into the free text box by mistake, write to corrections@willowmilepress.com and it gets cut out of the record.

Where a request goes after you send it

It goes to the desk, and then to the operating companies that have to answer it. Pricing a week in the Dolomites means asking a mountain guiding outfit what a guided traverse costs in the second week of September for two people, one of whom does not want exposure. That question cannot be asked anonymously; the operator needs to know party size and dates, and if a room is being held they will need the names of the people sleeping in it.

So the rule is this: what an operator needs in order to answer, they get. What they do not need, they do not get. Your telephone number is not handed on unless you have said you would rather be called than emailed. Your free text note is summarized into the relevant facts rather than forwarded whole, because a note about a knee is useful to a walking outfit and none of a ferry line's business.

Nobody else sees it. No list broker, no advertising network, no partner program, no data cooperative. Willow Mile Press does not sell your details, does not rent them, does not trade them for anything, and does not hand them to another company in exchange for leads. If this office ever changed hands, the requests would go with the business or be deleted, and you would be told before it happened.

Cookies and measurement

There is no analytics on this site. No page loads a measurement script, sets an analytics cookie, embeds a tracking pixel, or reports your visit to any third party. Nobody here knows which pages you read or how long you spent on them, and that is a deliberate choice rather than an oversight.

One browser preference is kept, in local storage rather than a cookie, and it is not sent anywhere. If you dismiss the notice at the top of the page, a single value records that you dismissed it so the notice does not reappear on every page you open. It contains no identifier. Clearing your browser data removes it, and the site works exactly the same with it gone.

The site does load a search container for looking up fares. When that lookup is in use it is a connection to a fare source, and that source will see the ordinary facts of any web connection, such as an address it is being asked to answer. It does not receive your name, your email, or anything you typed into the request form, because those live in a different part of the site entirely.

How long a note sits in this office

an unanswered request

kept while it is being worked on, then 90 days, then deleted

a request that became a trip

kept for two years after you travel, because operators raise questions afterward

a request you asked to be deleted

removed within 30 days of the message reaching corrections@willowmilepress.com

free text notes

cut down to the operational facts once the trip is arranged, and the original wording discarded

email correspondence

held with the request it belongs to and deleted on the same schedule

anything filed with the Missouri Secretary of State

kept as the filing requires, and that is a legal record rather than a marketing one

Two years is chosen because that is roughly how long a question about a past trip keeps arriving. Beyond that, the record is of no use to you and of no use to this desk.

Asking for your copy, a correction, or deletion

Write to corrections@willowmilepress.com and say which you want. A copy means the desk writes out everything held under your name and sends it to you. A correction means you tell the desk what is wrong and it is changed. Deletion means the record goes, including the correspondence, unless a trip is currently arranged and an operator still needs to reach you, in which case the desk will say so and delete the rest.

Expect an acknowledgment the same working day. within one business day A copy or a deletion takes longer to actually carry out, because somebody has to go through the correspondence by hand, but 30 days is the outside limit and it is usually far quicker.

You do not have to explain why, and asking costs you nothing. Nobody at this desk will follow up to ask you to reconsider, or try to keep you on any list, because there is no list. This site sends no marketing messages of any kind, runs no mailing list, and will not telephone you unless you have asked to be telephoned about a specific trip you are arranging.

Two things this office will not do

It will not advise you on entry documents, on insurance, on medical matters, or on anything legal. Those are outside what a booking desk is competent to answer, and the honest response is to send you to somebody qualified rather than to guess in writing. the questions people actually ask says the same thing at greater length.

It publishes no opinions about the operating companies it works with and grades nothing. There are no scores held about you either: no profile, no ranking, no automated decision about whether your request is worth answering. Every request that arrives is read by a person.

Questions about anything on this page go to corrections@willowmilepress.com. Questions about a trip go to desk@willowmilepress.com, or to +1 (314) 862-4517 during the part of the day when somebody is at the desk. The written terms that sit alongside this page are what happens if you have to pull out, and the practical sequence of arranging a trip is set out at how a reservation is placed here.
